Wintergreen has black bears on the mountain - they tend to shy away from loud noises and people, but they are also smart and resourceful! Make sure to lock your car doors, lock windows and doors at night, and don’t leave trash outside. We have woken up to bear paw prints on our car, and once even had a curious cub spy on us while we were eating breakfast! We’ve also spotted a mother bear with her cubs, and had one watch us from a tree as we were on the golf course! Wintergreen is “Bear Smart”. Click here to learn more.
